Today is my 100th day in Australia. Time flies. I had never been to the southern hemisphere before this, so I was excited about the new journey.

When I came to Melbourne, for the first time I realized that Christmas in the southern hemisphere is in summer. That is really impressive. And I often get confused about the direction here. Conmunicating in English is another chanllege. I was so nervous and shy to speak with local people at the very begining. It seems like all the English I learned in China is just written English. I even didn't know how to respond to "Sorry" in a native way. Unfortunately I got COVID-19 in my first week in Melbourne. I felt dizzy and weak, and had a severe cough. Frankly speaking, I regretted a little bit coming to Australia. Shortly thereafter, I recovered and started to explore Melbourne.

I tried foods from different countries, like taco, sushi, pho, even chinese noodle. The price here is quite expensive. I took a while to get used to it. The most fun thing is to go to surpermarkets and parks.

I got my tax number and looked for job. Finally I came to a famous chinese restaurant, called Haidilao. The work was hard and I had no time to code. After one month, I decided to quit and focused on learning English and building my new blog website. That is a wise decision, as I can post this article on a brand new website. I got time to take part in Meetup and met many cool programmer in Melbourne. Even though my English is poor, but I also learned something new from them.

I want to thank myself for overcoming difficulties to come to Australia and help myself to get used to this new life. I am also grateful to people who are nice and thoughtful to me here.
