Scalars, Vectors, Matrices and Tensors

- Scalars
A Scalar is a single number. We usually give it lowercase variable name in italics typeface, such as x.
- Vectors
A vector is an array of numbers which are arranged in order. Typically we give vectors lowercase name in bold typeface, such as x.
- Matrices
A matrix is a 2-D array of numbers. We usually give it uppercase name in italics bold typeface, such as X.
- Tensors
A tensor is a multiple dimensional array of numbers. We give it uppercase name with bold typeface, such as X.
